10:00 AM - 10:45 AM
Would you be willing to move your family into the unknown in hopes of a better future? The settlers of the Watauga settlement did just that. Join Seasonal Interpreter Matthew Simerly in Fort Watauga and learn about the people that pushed the frontier farther west. Hear why people of all walks of life moved here and what they brought with them to help them build their new lives and a new country. This program will last about 45 minutes and is appropriate for ages 8 and up. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held in the museum.
